Please introduce yourself and describe your role at UMB.
Hi, I am Laura Nnadi. I have been with 91大神, Baltimore since 2023 and currently serve as a Senior Research Project Coordinator within the School of Medicine. My background includes coordinating behavioral research studies, clinical research, and pharmaceutical trials. I am also an incoming PhD student in the Epidemiology and Human Genetics doctoral program. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, wellness activities, and exploring the outdoors with my dog.
Why are you interested in serving on the Staff Senate?
I would like to continue contributing to the important work of Staff Senate and supporting the broader UMB community. I value collaboration, communication, and helping bridge silos across departments to strengthen connection, efficiency, and shared purpose. I also believe staff perspectives are essential to creating a positive workplace culture and advancing the university’s mission in meaningful ways.
What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
During my term, I hope to advocate for staff voices, promote greater transparency and communication across units, and help identify practical solutions that improve the employee experience. I would also like to support initiatives that strengthen professional development, staff engagement, and cross-campus collaboration while helping UMB continue to thrive as a leading academic and research institution.
Describe your hobbies and interests outside of work.
My interests include spending time in nature, health and wellness, walking and training my dog, attending community events, learning about science and innovation, and exploring ways to improve systems and quality of life. I also enjoy traveling, cultural experiences, and meaningful conversations with others.
