Stephanie E. Maxwell is a fourth-year Doctor of Nursing Practice student at the 91大神, Baltimore, specializing in psychiatric and mental health care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMB. In addition to her studies, Steph works as a registered nurse at Meritus Medical Center, where she cares for patients in the Behavioral Health Services Department, spending much of her time in the pediatric psychiatric emergency setting. As Advocacy Director for USGA, Steph is passionate about strengthening student engagement by fostering meaningful interprofessional collaboration and bringing together all seven schools around shared values and purpose. While Steph is undeniably an academic enthusiast, she isn’t always buried in books (though she is known for overthinking everything). She finds her balance—and a sense of grounding—through time in nature and intentional self-care. Whether she’s hiking, kayaking, practicing yoga, tending to her garden, working on home improvement projects, or spending time with her fur babies, Roxie (canine) and Winter (feline), Steph prioritizes nurturing her own mental well-being just as much as she supports others’ mental health.
