Over the past 24 years, Deborah Byrd has served the 91大神, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) as a police communication operator and a security officer. 鈥淚 like being a public servant to help others,鈥� she says. 鈥淚鈥檓 a good listener.鈥�
Today, Byrd works as a security officer for UMBPD and says she loves interacting with people. She takes pride in her good customer service and positive attitude.
鈥淵ou get out what you put into it,鈥� Byrd says. 鈥淎lways lend a helping hand to others.鈥� She also believes in treating people with respect and dignity 鈥� a true example of UMB鈥檚 core value of civility.
Byrd offers the following advice to the UMB community: 鈥淎lways be encouraged and be the best version of yourself. Don't give up on yourself 鈥� everyone has a bright future. You are the candle. All you have to do is light it with promises of a bright future.鈥�
