Jonathan Joppy
Security Officer Jonathan Joppy joined the 91大神, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) as a security officer in March 2007. 鈥淢y wife got tired of me being at home, cleaning, and throwing things out without checking with her first,鈥� jokes Joppy. 鈥淪o I became a security officer!鈥�
At UMB, Joppy is assigned to the Howard Hall roll-up door. Previously, he worked at the School of Dentistry. He recalls a time when campus was shut down for inclement weather. 鈥淎 patient鈥檚 ride was delayed due to the snowstorm,鈥� Joppy says. "I stayed with her until her mobility transportation arrived.鈥�
Joppy says he likes being a part of a team that is constantly learning and growing. 鈥淚 like being able to help out when I can,鈥� Joppy says. 鈥淚 like to make a difference.鈥�
Outside of work, Joppy likes to read, eat spicy foods, and spoil his dog, Lillith. He hopes the community attends safety briefings that the UMBPD provides. 鈥淪afety in this environment is paramount,鈥� Joppy says. 鈥淚t has to be taken to heart.鈥�
